Well its my opinoin that they are as well made as any Schrade and up to most Queens.

The finish mit even be equwal to Queens.

It also may depend on the type of patern you get or when it was made. Older one best...

I like the shelds cuz most tell you what kind of steel the blades are.

I have never used one or sharpened one yet.

I only have some and just Ren-Wax them.

I just love those little people on them.

Sorry about the confusion!! My question concerned HENCKELS knives, and how
they compared to each other, in the various manufacturing periods, and when
these manf. periods occured, and how to tell the diferences of these periods!!!
Does that make sense??? Thanks!!!

Henckels has a long and complicated history. The name dates back to the early 1700s in Solingen. Are you interested in pocket knives? The henckels factory stopped making pocket knives in 1960s. Henckels pocket knives were made by Boker up until last year. Henckels still makes kitchen knives as far as I know. We would need more specific info and pics on a particular knife. :) s-k

Here is a Henckels I found back in Feb. and haven't found any
background on it as yet. Any help is appreciated.
4 inch stockman rosewood handles slanted bolsters bar shield.
In woodgrain box with J.A. Henckels arched over twins logo and Solingen arched below twins. then has 1731 on both sides of center logo. oblong label on back has 55731/100.
Thanks in advance.
