Rauno Vainionpaa is an award winning Finnish "Master Smith". In Finland a knife maker is called a "Smith" as all knives are forged. There can only be 7 "Master Smiths" alive at any one time so it is a high honor to have this titled bestowed on you.
OAL 8 1/4", blade 3 3/4"
The handle is rings of birch bark and is shaped in all 3 dimensions giving a most natural in hand fit & feel.
This unusual drop point is Rauno's take on a hunting knife. The hunter who bought the first one raved about it being the best knife he had ever used to field dress an animal that Rauno made a few others with this drop from spine to tip.
Dangler sheath with snug fit.
Rauno does not have a website but he does have a Facebook page.
This is a very fine custom knife & sheath.
