Re: Jay Bigler: His fixed-blade knives
Maybe I'll move to the Veteran's Home in Anna when I get to where I can't take care of myself anymore. That's just down the road a piece from the Mental Hospital. Kill two birds with one stone.

Made sometime from 2001 to 2004... I always thought that this would be a good letter opener.

Two beauties M.J., but the dagger is exceptional!

Dad's engraved name is very hard to see on this knife, but it is one of his. I remember that early on he made several knives using the decorative pattern with the pins on the handle.

Among the first knives that Dad made, this one has stayed in the family with a great-nephew whose initials are the same as Dad's.

Another early knife... not as early as the last one I posted here, but made sometime in 1996 or 1997...

I love the look of that one; the design really flows.

One of the "98"... This is one of the few fixed-blade knives that I found back in April... one of the most unique that Dad ever made...

Dad sure liked burled wood. There is still in a room in his old workshop a burly section of a tree that he got from someone around here that he was prepping to cut into handle-sized pieces.

A simple design with a little added accent on the handle...

Re: Jay Bigler: His fixed-blade knives
Over on the forum post for the folding knives, Reverend just remarked that Dad's knives have a definite "look" to them. I think that's pretty cool. Thanks, Rev! Here's the next fixed-blade I'm posting...

Dad made several knives from horseshoes. We used to have horses, so they were easy to come by.
