Anybody have an idea who made this knife? The marking on the blade says "F20". That's it. The scales appear to be micarta.

I'm taking a shot in the dark here: possibly a kit knife or a blade blank? Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will come along and confirm or deny. Whatever its back story, it's pretty neat!

Another really neat fixed blade! ::tu::

I haven't yet put my Izula II to hard use, but it's gotten to the point that I feel incomplete when it's not around my neck.

It might be appropriate to explain my thinking on why I repeat the posting of certain photos. On my more interesting knives I figure that many, even thousands of members and visitors failed to see it when previously shown. Also, there are new members to whom it will be new. And for those who have seen it previously, some like Marco and Floyd may enjoy seeing it again. For these reasons I have no reluctance to engage in repeat showings.

That's fine reasoning Garry, I'll have to give some thought into doing similar with my collection. ::hmm:: 8)

I got these two in today. I have been selling a few from my personal collection to pay for these. The Hattori is now the most expensive knife in my collection. Master Hattori is now 80 years old and only makes a few of each knife when he makes knives. This is one in honor of his 80 years. Chinese Quince burl wood handles. 97 layer V-gold San Mai Damascus blade with a single bevel edge. Malachite spacer and all nickel silver components.
The second one is a Moki bird and trout with amber carved bone stag handles. A Master Sakurai special edition. AUS-8 stainless blade.

A fine pair, Mark. ::tu::
I know you've been picking up Hattori's along the way, and this one is the finest yet. ::nod::
I've always admired the B + T knives and hope to own one someday, just like yours! 8)

Both are gorgeous, Mark. But the Hattori knocks my socks off. Curious, do you think you will ever put many of your Hattoris up for sale?

Thank you Mark and Garry.
I don’t see selling them anytime soon. I am selling others from my collection to buy this one, so it’s becoming a focus of my collecting to concentrate more on the ones that knock my socks off too.

I wonder if this is the beginning of you transitioning over to fixed blades from folders, Mark. ::hmm::
There was a time that you had only 1 fixed blade in all your knives, and now you continue adding them and selling your folders, so I'm curious as to where it will stop, if it does.
I will be watching closely! ::watching_you:: ! lol! 8)

I don’t think so Mark. Slip joints are still my favorites. But when you admire a Master like Hattori and all he makes are fixed blades then you have to bend and buy some fixed blades every now and then.
Sorry about the loss of sock Jimbo, that usually happens to me when my wife does the laundry, seems like there is always one that escapes. Maybe it’s the knives blowing them off my feet instead, I just usually blame her for dropping them on the way to the laundry, I guess I could be wrong.

Thank you Dan. You won’t be sorry to ever get an Hattori knife. They are kind of expensive. He is 80 years old and won’t be making that many more so my hunch is that these are going to appreciate over time. He only makes a few at a time now and not that frequently so the prices have been rising consistently already. When you hold a knife that he made you can just feel his master’s touch on it from the weight distribution to the polishing on the blade and the handles. There is something unique about his creations. Hope you can get one.
