Nice knife Dimitri. I really like those handles. This is the only U.S. fixed blade I've got. Western - Boulder, Colo. - USA - L39. I got this in about 1958 for one book of Top Value Trading Stamps.

It` in good shape and you still have it after all this time, and to think you got it for the price of a book of trading stamps

Re: American Made Hunting & Fishing Fixed Blade Knives
I've not seen any in years. Used to be that the grocery stores gave them out. For every dime you spent you got one stamp. There were probably more, but the ones I remember were the S&H Green Stamps and Top Value. One was handed out at the A&P stores and the other at Albers Markets, but I don't remember which handed out which.

I remember the S&H Green stamps well. But I'm thinking you ended up with the better end of the deal. I would think that those trading stamps may be long gone, or what ever they were traded for.tjmurphy wrote:I've not seen any in years. Used to be that the grocery stores gave them out. All nice knives!
k7k, I think you're right on your mystery knife being a Catt.

Re: American Made Hunting & Fishing Fixed Blade Knives
K7K, I love the Rem outers pattern with the bone slabs. I have two Imperials that look almost identical to that.
The mystery knife...I have seen a very similar handle material and shape that was also used on Imperials.
Nice sharing anyway!

Nothing spectacular, just what was on the bench. Sorry about the pics, new camera won't work with the old light box so I had to improvise.
Some Western B&Ts
Some smaller Western B&Ts; actually the top one is an SFO for Coast Cutlery
Two post-war Western 46-5s; the bottom one is marked for the BSA
KaBar B&Ts
Remington Rh-24s (one of my favorite B&Ts)
Marbles, Expert and Ideal
Robeson (top) and unknown B&Ts
As you might guess, I've got a bit of a fondness for Bird and Trout patterns!

Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)

Miller Brothers, you have a tough act to follow. I will post a few anyway. Here is a homemade rack of scrap with some of my Schrade 165's. Yes, they are all different.
