You are right not sure who makes them but they are the same as the pic you posted. They work well for my fixed blade/sheath knives but I need something else. Besides those in the case I have more just stacked on top of each other a shelf. All cleaned and wiped down to prevent rusting but not stored very welljerryd6818 wrote:outkast -- Those knife holders/sachels/briefcases or what ever you want to call them look like the ones made by Hickory Hill. Mine has Queen stitched on the front. It holds 48 folding knives in two fold up cases that slip down in the briefcase pouch. Very well made. I like it a lot and it's Made In USA.outkast wrote:And a few more

There's a tag inside the big sack/briefcase/holder that you stick the folders into that says Hickory Hill Made in USA. I didn't know that when I bought it. It was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting Made in a country which shall remain nameless.

Actually, Western States introduced the pattern as the #63, in 1928. Marbles copied it a couple years later when they discontinued the Dall Deweese pattern.Miller Bro`s wrote:I`m surprised you don`t have any Marbles, that is who all the other knife companies ripped off the design from

Correct. I have one in cracked ice and another in jigged bone with fish scaler spine. They are available.coffeecup wrote:Actually, Western States introduced the pattern as the #63, in 1928. Re: Call It what you like Outers, Scout, Camp Knives
The Robertson Handmade Outers knife is one of three I made a good while back. I kept one that I gifted to a freind and Jim Parker got the other 2 in a trade we made for a NYK display knife that Jim had. Not sure where you got the knife but Jim was the first owner not counting me. There is another one floating around out there somewhere.outkast wrote:And some more
The bone handle is KA-BAR bone I got from KA-BAR rep. Dick Sturm. I used an Imperial Outers for the pattern.

Re: IMAG1455 at the beginning of this thread. I love this knife pattern and have been trying to find one on the market in any brand, new or vintage.outkast wrote:My collection started with Remington RH-4 which is in the safe with others i will be photographing soon. Anyway here's a few of mine. Lets see yours
The closest so far is the Imperial H-50 but not quite the same.
Any suggestions?

Re: Call It what you like Outers, Scout, Camp Knives
Well I haven't posted here in some time but I haven't been buying much, especially in the line of outers and camp knives. However I did pickup this nice little Utica off ebay the other day.

Re: Call It what you like Outers, Scout, Camp Knives
Here are a few I have:
The first picture is of the first knife I ever bought at the age of 10;probably made by Utica;it was stamped only Sportsman.Paid 98 cents for it at the local hardware store and the owner wouldn't sell it to me unless my grandfather told him it was OK. Strangely enough the owner of the store is still alve and well past 100 years old. I talked with him awhile back and he still remembered me buying it;probably because he had such a great respect for my grandfather.
The others are just ones I've acquired over the years.

Bringing up this interesting old thread ..... because ....outkast wrote:Got a couplein the mail today 2 Utica Sportsman with sheaths
I recently got this nice OLCUT Union Cutlery Co. fixed blade with a sheath that wasn't original to the knife.
KA-BAR sheath. 7 1/4" overall & 3 3/4" blade.
There are some really nice collections of knives in this thread thanks to outcast and others.

Those Outers knives are SO cute! I kinda wish I had not gotten rid of mine; I had some good ones. Thanks for bringing the thread back; good viewing!

Thank you, Cal and Steve.
Yes, it's a nice little knife and since the cutting edge is less than four inches I can carry it legally.
Those who make the laws in this state have the citizens safety in mind knowing full well that at
four inches or longer mayhem can and probably will ensue.

Came across this old thread in a search. I have posted these knives before but not in this thread. The Outers certainly was a well liked, minimalistic pattern as seen by he number of companies that made this style of knife.
I you have some add them to the thread.
