I like both knives- understated elegance and very functional. Does it say OVB (our very best) on the one tang? The other items in the picture are interesting as well.

Yes, the smaller knife is the Camillus OVB (Our Very Best) version of the Jerry Fisk Sendero.

I own the Camillus for long but always wanted a smaller ricasso on it.

(there is also a new factory-made version of the Sendero by White River avilable)

The coins are cheap chinese fakes.

Wally, that Mammoth Ivory knife is exquisite. Actually, it is the nicest knife i have seen for a long time. Your friend has a remarkable talent as a knifemaker and you are very fortunate to be the custodian of such a wonderful piece of cutlery. The sheath is not too shabby either.
Welcome to the Forum...man, you have hit the ground running with that set.

Thanks much Schrade. I love that knife too. I am and have been a Schrade Walden man for 40 years. Here is my old buddy, a Schrade Walden 283, and a 283 I just picked up. For years, I thought my knife was a 233, and I looked for a nice one for a long time. Then I got out my 10X loupe, and bygolly, it was a 283! It took me 5 minutes to find a Schrade Walden 283, NOS FOR $39. Live and learn. I like my old one best, as it says SCHRADE WALDEN on the shield. I found it in a washing machine at a laundromat in Pendleton Oregon in 1982, and it has been in my pocket ever since.
I actually tried to locate the owner. I put a paper up in the laundromat, and four people called, but no one could describe it. At least I tried. Like You, I am a Schrade nut!

They sure are; I don't own a single CASE fixed blade; the chrome plating kinda throws me. Just me, I know. I see some of the old ones but balk at the price when they are in extra pretty condition. I am partial to the Ruanas too; I might have a couple of them. You have a great collection, Mr. Kennedy; Some great images you posted earlier, also (Randalls & Ruanas & CASES, oh my!).

They don't get any more rugged than this Cold Steel. No handle slabs to break, only olive paracord on a high carbon blade. I think I remember buying this at a gunshow back in the early 1990s for less than $20, did not come with a sheath. If I remember correctly, Cold Steel marketed this as a throwing knife, but with a nylon sheath I picked up at our local military store, it makes a fine all around knife. This one at the time was USA made, later versions were imported.
