Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Gary, I'll quote from the COA.
"This Mark II is one of a 100 piece limited edition produced in 2002, for A.G. Russell Knives, each with a unique serial number. This version combines features found on the Mark II throughout its illustrious history, including a "cats tongue" coated stainless steel grip that is powder coated with cardinal black and gray, and the addition of a 154CM stainless steel blade. The classic leather sheath has been reproduced for that famous Mark II look and feel. Serial # Z00052
It does not have the 5 degree cant.

Hi Gary this is an Early Gerber Mark 11 from 1968 been toted and used love the brochure that came with it . Back in 1968 one like this was $31.95 . Doesn't sound like a lot of money now. If i remember most military guy made about $78.00 a month I got $90.00 a month in 1970 .

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
That one reminds me of this Russell knife with a finger guard cast into the front bolster.cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:30 amI'm thinking about having to solve that issue myself on a knife. I'm wanting to put my own handles on some cheap "slightly rusted" Green River Dadley blanks I found, but I want to have a guard. I have an old Dexter butcher knife that belonged to my great-Granddad that uses a piece of L-shaped steel attached by the front pin to the blade and handle that is bent to form the guard. That's the idea I'm gonna copy. Works, and isn't a big a headache as trying to cast a fancy guard or try to contour it into the handle like some other knives use.ken98k wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:07 am A couple new arrivals A Bear & Sons bird and trout and an Old Hickory hunter

The Old Hickory is similar to and suffers from the same "no guard" ailment as this Russell Green River hunter that I picked up last year.

Beautiful knife Garry, and it's not serrated either! I've been looking at these for a looong time, but the current prices have kept me from doing any more than looking!

Nice photo, John. The 119 is a great medium sized fixer that has a myriad of uses. It just feels right in the hand.

Yes they do go for a lot of money but it will never be sold by me.Maybe whomever takes over my accumulation when I pass will sell it. CS Original Bush Ranger: SK5 steel equivalent to American made 1084 which made for an excellent field blade and my favorite outdoor knife.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Thanks for the input John. In every respect, feel-balance-cutting, it is about as fine a fixed blade field knife as I have ever encountered. Naturally, production ceased. CS has a new knife with the same name, but it is quite different.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
A fine looking field knife, Garry...and the sheath looks to be very well made and quite sturdy.
