Since I'm not anticipating any bayonet charges, I converted this implement of war into a useful utility knife with a olive canvas micarta handle.

That turned out great. I like the idea of an olive drab rehandle on an old military blade.

It was a real learning experience. I dont think Ive ever re-handled a hidden tang knife before. Luckily, the new scales were plenty thick because I made a couple mistakes and ended up with a much thinner handle than I planned on but, it is way more comfortable than the original.
