I like the 2025 bakelite pommel one, pretty rare knife. I sold my mint example a couple years ago. If we get some sun here tomorrow I will try to find time to photograph some of the mint stag ones I have left.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Thanks to all that have responded. It takes a long time to find all the different Variation in mint condition .
I hope it will be a good example of Case Fixed Blade Knives . Maybe from it we can have a question and answer dialogue.

That's a great gathering Gary, thanks for showing. Interesting knife with the black pommel. Never knew it existed. Did other patterns come with that pommel?

Very impressive collection Gary. The black pommel knife is interesting, never saw one before. And the labels are very helpful thank you for that.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Isn't that little one on the lower right a 3 Finn, not a 5?? Fine collection for sure! I think there are many more variations of the 5 Finn by the way.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
No corrections, Gary. Great collection of gorgeous knives. For what it's worth, I have seen what you refer to as a "Round Head" pommel also called a "Mushroom Cap" pommel. And, what you refer to as a "Square Head" pommel called a "Spike" pommel due to its similarity to the head of a railroad spike. I don't know how wide spread that terminology is, but fyi.
Whatever you call them, they sure are nice.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
How can it be half the size of the others and still be a 5?? All 5s are the same size. The bakelite pommels are definitely WW2 era knives, I have had many of them in leather but the stag one you have is one of four I know of.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Thanks for the question I list it as a M5 Finn which in all the books I have that's what a Stag Handle one is it only say a 3 when you are talking about leather . I guess that would be the difference . Also not all 5's are the same you have a short handle 5 & a long handle 5 and some of the earlier one's are different length .Gunsil wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 1:35 pmHow can it be half the size of the others and still be a 5?? I will try later to list some of the measurements
Thanks Gary
Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
I dug this one out, one of the rarest Case stag knives known. Will try to dig out others today.
Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Another super rare stag Case, this one made for them by KA-BAR/Union Cut. If anybody knows where there is a nicer one I would sure like to have a better example. I think it is the only Case hunter with a stag pommel.

Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Early Case Fixed Blade with Bakelite Pommel World War 2 . I Know this isn't Stag but I thought I would show the Pommel
Re: Case Stag Handle Fixed Blade Variation
Here ya go Gary, a super rare 61 in stag. One of only four noted by Brad Wood. By the way, you are correct in that the little knife is a 5F but you should have it labeled M5F since the M stands for "midget" I must have had an extra vodka yesterday, I know well that 5 is stag and 3 is leather. it was the midget thing I was thinking of.
