Puma knives

Post by RWB »

I just bought my first Puma. An 05 model. I like the knife but I noticed right away the antler scales have a lot of "pith". They can't be using Sambar I would guess. Is there anyone on the forum who would know of a factory authorized repair person that works on Puma knives? I have a question about their stag.

All the older Puma Knives, I'd say from the 50's through the early 90's had great Sambar stag. All the fairly currant Puma's have European red stag that is normally not that attractive and fairly pithy.

Not sure what you’re wanting done to the knife, as you didn’t say what’s wrong with it. You can contact Puma https://pumaknifecompanyusa.com/returns.aspx. Appears they have a factory authorized repair located in Lenexa, KS. At the bottom of that web page you can click on “Contact us” for a phone number, email address, and a physical mailing address. ::tu::

Thanks for the info. I suspected the stag was native red stag. It's a knife I wouldn't mind rehandling except for the fact it would ruin It's factory original condition.
