Post by PACKLEAD3R »

Hi,
James here. I am new to fixed blades. Hoping someone can help better understand what I have here. From a value standpoint. I don't expect that I've won the lottery. Im just looking for real honest information.

I am not a fixed blade collector but know that condition is important to value and these are in rather poor condition. Some of the Kabar fixed blades are valuable but i don't know which ones.
The Schrade H-15 is quite common and with sheath worth $30-$45.
The large knife has a home made handle and guard.
As a guess you might get $100 for all of them as a lot.

When I see a fixed blade with the guard bent badly or smashed, I wonder - how the heck did that happen? Had to be abuse, how could normal use cause that? Although some of the lower-priced knives used pretty thin metal for the guard.

I think a hundred for all of them is high since they are in pretty rough shape.

They’re all in pretty rough condition. Cleaned up they’d probably make good users but I see nothing with collector value there. I doubt you could get more than $10 each like they are. Spend some time cleaning them up, get the rust off the blades, apply some mineral oil on the handles, etc and you might double that. JMO

That's my plan Ken. I do appreciate your solid advice.

It’s a nice group of honest users, try to get them from “neglected” to “well loved” condition with gentle cleaning mineral oil and elbow grease. Then use them I think you will be surprised.

The SchradeWalden is a nice knife.
