Let's see those Blackjacks!

Post by ken98k »

Here is my most recent addition, Blackjack 1-7 Sabre with antique ivory micarta handle.
I'm not sure what the "Sabre" has to do with anything, handle design? I believe these were made by Bark River but are no longer being produced.
The knife has the standard Blackjack convex blade grind, and is obviously Blackjack's version of the Randall Made model 1-7 fighting knife.

In the late '70s/early '80s I was buying Blackjacks for under $50. Wish I'd picked up more. I think they're as good as Randalls. JMO

In the 70's and 80's $50 was a lot of money and not small change today!

I guess I’ve been asleep all these years as I dot think I’d ever seen a Blackjack knife before. They sure are lookers! That ivory micarta is plumb snazzy. And Cuz those do have a Randall look. Very nice!

I like those a lot Ken. Especially the bottom two. While the top one is a classic beauty in its own right, the bottom two with their blade shapes and handles look eminently handy. I bet they’re great users.

Nice looking knives gents.
I recall looking at them on SMKW.com and the TAC-OPS version was $79 but by the time I finally made up my mind to get one they were discontinued and sold out.
I'm honestly surprised there are not more of them on these pages.

Time to come clean. Mine are Randall’s. I just posted them for fun. I figured someone would have called me out by now. To my eye they look a lot different than Blackjacks.

Thank you! Those two on the bottom right are two of Ken Warner's "Knifeware" models that I don't care for the looks of... almost cartoonish to me. Some folks like them, though. The rest are Effingham models.
