Re: Vintage Ruana Knives
Question, the knife in the last picture is this one very early?

I would have to get it out of the safe to tell you for sure but what I think I remember is his Bullwhip signature and a Custom Model 27 with different handle than a regular 27 . I have a few with early knife stamp that isn't shown . If we keep this going I will pull some out and see what I have . Now don't stop posting yours .Miller Bro's wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 11:55 pmQuestion, the knife in the last picture is this one very early?
On a trip to Glacier National Park about 15 year ago my wife and I made a side trip to there shop, and it's everything you have heard and read about . Still talk to them from time to time great Guys. Love their Knives . The shop had all the old tools and devices that Rudy made to make knives . Mike made time to show us how it all works .

Re: Vintage Ruana Knives
I too have owned only one and it was like Stagmans, a smoke jumper model. They only had one rivet in the center of the elk antler scales. I sold mine so I don't have any photo to share. Great little knife made by Rudy and old world black smith, nothing fancy but hell for strength. I don't think you could ever wear one out. Terry
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Re: Vintage Ruana Knives
Those smoke jumpers are SO CUTE!
Here is a 1943-1944 square cut 14-B. The original sheath was gone but a reasonable facsimile was made by Mike/Mark Hangas.
