Your welcome ~Q~.
Nice Baby Doc. Love the rattler shield, and the underbelly is ingenious.

There are more. I'm as much a shield collector as I am a knife accumulator. I'll buy a knife, which I already have 2 or 3 of, just for the shield. Same goes for a knife I have no interest in.

Newest to me knife, was told this is a Henry Sears Shield that they made and used. Can someone help me if Queen themselves used this Shield on some of their earlier made knives? It’s pinned in place and doesn’t seem the knife has been taken apart. If someone has knowledge on the Henry Sears Shields please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Queen was a brand name of Henry Sears. It didn't have anything to do with Queen Cutlery. That does look like the Henry Sears shields.

When I think of an "arrowhead" shield, I tend to think of the style used on modern Northwoods knives. Although I am by no means an expert on different shields and their corresponding names, I always thought the shield on your Wilbert was based on a Medieval shield shape called an "escutcheon" or in more modern times, a "badge" (which is slightly different than a "federal badge"). But, as always, I could be way off base and completely wrong (it's been known to happen on more than one occasion  )

FWIW as a reference, consider these examples of Medieval shield shapes:

But then they call this one a stinger shield:

This is what I think of when it says "badge shield" on this old Summit Knife Co. Cigar Jack:

Dan, I didn't mean to be nit-picky about the name of the shield on your beautiful Wilbert...sorry if it came off sounding that way. I have always been fascinated by knife shields and often wonder what the many different styles are called. It is also intriguing to wonder why a knife maker chooses a particular shield type to put on a knife handle. Why? ::shrug:: I mean, a shield is purely aesthetic, i.e., has no relation to the function of the knife itself; it's just decoration and adds extra parts and labor. Nevertheless, aside from those shields that bear the brand name or advertise some specific feature of the knife, as far as I can tell, the only reason for putting a shield on a knife handle is because it's traditional. I'm sure there's an explanation for how and why this tradition began in the first place, but the evolution of shields over time certainly is a topic of great interest as evidenced by the many entries in this thread.

Here's a modern shield that I really like but I have no idea why someone would put a Whale on a Mammoth tooth handle of a Teardrop/Bullet Jack knife other than perhaps because the blue tooth resembles the ocean ::undecided::. (Not my knife, BTW, it's one I found for sale in Plumbob's AAPK store)

VERY COOL! 8) ::tu:: That's one I've not seen before and I like it...very much. Great detail and an excellent example of a shield that actually says something related to the knife pattern/name. ::nod::
