Yep, I quoted myself. I was just reading through some old posts and saw this ludicrous statement I made. I obviously forgot that I have a Birdseye scout myself, and have had it long before I posted this a couple of months ago. So here’s my self-correction.

That is a new one to me, a pattern that I do not recall ever seeing before. I do have a Taylor that uses a frame that is shaped similarly, but with a different style single blade.

Been a moment since I've been able to add to my CFG collection but when this beauty came up last week on eBay, I went deep and am so pleased that I did. According to my references, NYKCo made 1 variation of this model circa 1930 but I have 3 ::shrug::

The newest edition to the family is in the middle with the knife on the left having a different awl and the knife on the right having a lift on the can opener. All 3 have removable bails and bolster lines which are confirmed by my references, but the variations are puzzling. Cobbling could be present which as we know can be found on rare 100-year-old knives.

Hope you enjoy my latest pickup! ::handshake::

Thanks Mike, this one has been in my collection for quite some time and came from Cindy Taylor when she still lived in New England before moving to your neck of the woods.

Congratulations Tom! I’m happy to see that it made it to your pile. I had it on my watch list and put in a bid, but the bid soon ascended beyond the meager reach of my pocketbook. I was hoping someone here won it. ::handshake::

Bought this Imperial Girl Scout kit today. Seems totally untouched. The spoon looks a bit different than the knife and fork. It's marked "Stainless, USA" but has no GS markings. It does fit the carry sheath perfectly. Like to see one to compare it to. Thanks for any input or a pic of one if you have it. J.O'.

That is a very cool little kit of eating utensils! ::tu:: Those little kits can come in really handy, too.

Found this very nice, 1930's, FAIRMOUNT CUTLERY CO., "Standard Scout" by Camillus. (Both Levine and Price say Fairmount is from Camillus,NY. This one says, "N.Y.CITY".)
Really like the shield.
