Re: Eagle Knife Company
This morning, I added this pocket knife to this topic or thread and to my collection. It is from the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), it has two blades, it has one tang stamp, it measures 3 3/8" closed and it is an all metal pocket knife. The tang stamp says "EAGLE KNIFE CO. - PAT. ALL'D. - MADE IN USA." I thought that I had all of the variations of the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY tang stamps. I do NOT have all of the variations of the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY tang stamps (maybe now I do). It is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y., the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction. This is my ninth pocket knife manufactured by the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY. However, this is my first pocket knife from the EAGLE KNIFE CO. that has two blades. The other eight have all been previously posted under this topic or thread and elsewhere. I gave it a minor cleaning, took some pictures and here it is.

Yesterday afternoon, this pocket knife arrived and it became the latest example to be added to this topic or thread and to my collection. It is an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), one blade, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The tang stamp says "EAGLE KNIFE CO. - PAT. ALL'D. - MADE IN USA." This is my first pocket knife from the EAGLE KNIFE CO. that has ONE blade AND this particular tang stamp. This "style" of pocket knife is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y., the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and some other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction or style. This is my tenth pocket knife manufactured by the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY. The other nine have ALL been posted under this topic or thread and elsewhere. I cleaned it up, took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Eagle Knife Company
A recent trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It is one out of a trio of pocket knives that John, aka 1967redrider sent to me. Again, THANK YOU, John.
This pocket knife is now my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is also the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a DIXON, two blades, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "DIXON (over) CUTLERY Co (over) U.S.A." Per GOINS, "DIXON CUTLERY CO USA c.1920" While it most definitely is NOT an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knife, it DOES fit into the "cousin" category. It is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company (1917-1925), the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919) and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. The main blade has a good half stop, along with a good opening and closing snap. The secondary blade also has a good half stop, with a good opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD+ condition. I gave it a bit of a cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. I also included, for comparison, pictures of the almost identical, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knife.

Yesterday afternoon, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is also the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a CRUSADER, two blades, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "CRUSADER (over) TRADEMARK (over) MADE IN U.S.A." Per GOINS "CRUSADER TRADEMARK MADE IN U.S.A. c 1939-1940 A trademark used by Belknap Hardware." While it most definitely is NOT an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knife, it DOES fit into the "cousin" category. It is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company (1917-1925), the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), the DIXON CUTLERY COMPANY (1920) and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. The main blade has a good half stop with a weak opening and closing snap. The secondary blade also has a good half stop, with a weak opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR+ condition. Contrary to how it appears in the pictures, the main blade tip is NOT broken. This pocket knife needed cleaning. I cleaned it up a bit, I took some pictures and here it is.

So, who knows..... This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did need a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

The main blade appears to have been reshaped. The main blade, NASTY SHARP, has a SOFT half stop. The main blade has NO opening snap. The main blade has an OK closing snap. The secondary blade, VERY SHARP, also has a SOFT half stop. The secondary blade has NO opening snap. The secondary blade has NO closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is still in FAIR+ condition. It did need a bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Eagle Knife Company
A few days ago, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), two blades, two tang stamps, 3 3/8" closed, one spring, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "EAGLE KNIFE CO (over) PAT. PEND (over) MADE IN USA" The secondary blade front tang stamp also says, "EAGLE KNIFE CO (over) PAT. PEND (over) MADE IN USA" This pocket knife is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction. This is my fourth pocket knife from the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY that has two blades. Overall, this is my seventeenth, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, pocket knife. My other sixteen, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread. The main blade (VERY SHARP!!) has a CRISP half stop. The main blade has a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade has a VERY GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade (VERY SHARP!!) also has a CRISP half stop. The secondary blade has a VERY GOOD opening snap. The secondary blade has a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed VERY little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Eagle Knife Company
Yesterday afternoon, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), one blade, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "EAGLE KNIFE CO (over) PAT. OCT. 1.18 (over) MADE IN USA" This pocket knife is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction. Overall, this is my eighteenth, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, pocket knife. My other seventeen, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread. The main blade (VERY SHARP!!) does have a VERY CRISP half stop. The main blade does have a NASTY opening snap. The main blade does have a NASTY closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I already edited this post. But, ANY previous post involving EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY or related pocket knives
(CRUSADER & DIXON), should NOT have "one spring" or "single spring" in the description of the pocket knife.
The "spring" on ALL of these pocket knives, is the "bend" which forms the bottom of each pocket knife.

Thank you, Kerry.
I enjoy the hunt almost as much as I enjoy the find.

I agree he is like a bloodhound on some of these brands or patterns. I enjoy the odd things he comes up with.toomanyknives wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 2:19 pm Skip, you are one of the best knife hunters I've ever seen….
