Re: Knife & Cutlery Ephemera
Very recently I obtained another CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife box/display.
The spring was used to hold the pocket knife that was on display, in place.
In this case it would've been a, according to the label, pattern #22459 pocket knife.
It's in good+ condition and it will display nicely.
It measures 2 3/4" X 4 5/8" X 2 1/2."

Re: Knife & Cutlery Ephemera
Here is another original, antique, Victorian era trade card. It is for LION COFFEE and WOOLSON SPICE CO., TOLEDO, OHIO. On the back of this trade card is an offer for a FREE POCKET KNIFE. The card is dated 1895, with the offer ending January 15, 1896. The card measures 3 3/8" X 5 3/8." It is in GREAT condition for being over 120 years old. The front and back of the card is pictured. I do not know who manufactured the pocket knife in the offer.

Re: Knife & Cutlery Ephemera
I bought this because the price was right. It is a ring blade. Used for cutting twine,
as on newspaper bundles. Used on fabric in the textile industry, etc., etc., etc.
It breaks down to three pieces. The ring, the guard/guide and the blade.
Here are a couple of links to some different, previously posted ring blades, not mine, on page 16.

Re: Knife & Cutlery Ephemera
Cool find Skip. I've never seen one built like that. The only ones I've seen are like the Handy Twine finger blades. My sis-in-law worked in several textile mills many years ago and showed me a couple she had. She said she mainly used them when she was in shipping.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 9:45 pm I bought this because the price was right. It is a ring blade. Used for cutting twine,

New_Windsor_NY, nice trove of ephemera you've shown recently.
The trade cards offering cutlery are neat, especially when actual knives are shown on back.
