Per the seller, this item is from 1977 and it is the latest piece of pocket knife ephemera to join my collection. It's a hockey cards, wax pack wrapper, pocket knife offer. The offer doesn't mention the pocket knife manufacturer.

A very nice additions to your Ephemera collection Skip. The Ka-Bar and Keen Kutter boxes are really nice. The Hockey Wrapper Knife offer kind of makes me wonder about the knife also. If it is true to the rudimentary drawing, it could be either a Colonial or Imperial Single Blade Jack with bail and possibly one by Novelty Knife Company. All were famous for making promos of these type knives. But in 1977, not sure how good a deal it was. 75 cents mail in for the knife plus 75 cents invested in the gum, seems like a few cents more than you could buy one off a card at the store? But of course, many times, mail in promo's weren't really a good deal. Look at the X-Ray Glasses from the backs of Comic Books.

My latest piece of knife and cutlery ephemera, which I did purchase, is this ad/offer by
The WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO., NEWARK, N.J. It is for a free fob/key ring style, pocket knife.
It is from the February 15, 1923 issue of "PRINTERS' INK."

Here are some original, antique, Victorian era trade cards. They are for LION COFFEE and WOOLSON SPICE CO., TOLEDO, OHIO. On the back of each trade card, is an offer for a FREE POCKET KNIFE. It partly says "The above shows exact size and appearance of our new Pocket-Knife." If the illustrated pocket knife IS the "exact size", then it measures 2 7/8" closed. It has a steel blade and iron handle. All the cards are dated 1894, 1895 & 1896. The cards are two different sizes, 3 3/8" X 5 3/8" and 5 1/8" X 7" All are in GREAT condition for being over 120 years old. The front and back of each card is pictured. I do not know who manufactured the advertised pocket knife.
