The whalers are gigantic! I've never seen one in person and seeing them next to the elephant toes provides a good reference. Nice group Greg.

Nice group of knives Greg ::tu:: ::tu:: ... Like Jerry - I never have seen a whaler in person but remember when I saw my first elephant toenail and I thought that was a mighty big handful ::nod:: ... Those whalers look like you need 2 hands  ... You have a photo Greg of an old toe nail next to the Whaler? In fact is it just the angle of the last photo or is the bottom whaler abit bigger than the others??

Both of the whalers are 4 3/8 inches closed a shade longer than the Case at 4 1/4 inches. I think what makes them so impressive looking is the width o f the blade, about 1 5/8 inches at the widest point. ::woot::

Whalers were patterned after C Platts & Sons jumbo swellcenter knives.Bill Howard had one of mine for a year or so in his office desk.
