Thanks Lloyd, Dan, Jay and Bill ::handshake:: ::tu:: ...

Not sure I ever showed you guys the before and after of the big jack on top along with the story - I won this knife 4-5 years ago on a "whim" with this photo on eBay (when it was still a decent marketplace for knives imo) and it cost me very little as nobody was interested based on this one photo :D ... The knife was probably found in the dirt in a barn or some covered outdoor area where no rain hit it - After a gentle cleaning of the dirt from the jigging the knife and inspection of the blades and handle wells I realized I had a winner ::nod:: ... the knife is in great shape all the way around in terms of snap, tight etc and has one minor issue in my book relative to condition of the rest of the knife - the crack on mark side bone :) - doesn't take away any appeal to me at all - especially that big "tribal" spear which caught Jay's eye too  ....

What think you of this knife? Empire Signal Corp WWI knife. Winsted CT. I was told that this is cocobolo wood. The screw driver blade locks strongly with a strong spring. It is released by pressing in on the cutting blade. Pretty rare I was told? What do you guys think?

I can't attest to how rare it may be, nevertheless, a nice looking knife and any Empire is not something you are going see everyday. Thanks for posting.

I posted a Miller Bros a few months ago, not as nice as yours, but it also has the Signal Corps shield.

I have the stock single blade screw driver by Empire but I've never seen one with the signal corps shield. Nice find. Orvet may be able to give you more info as he is pretty well versed on those radio knives of any brand.

Some recent eBay sales of Empire knives of that pattern. Signal Corps shield should add some value.

Couple of my Empire's. The 2 bladed jack has horn handles and it came from a friend who got it from our friend Barry. Great knife that still has the etch showing.

The lockback I've had awhile but don't think I ever posted a picture of it.

A couple of great ones Mike! ::tu:: I've got the twin brother of the one with horn handles. Can't see any etch though.

Nice Signal Corps knife, jackknifejeff! ::tu::
Two beautiful Empires, Mike! ::tu:: I would imagine there are not too many Empires around with an intact etch.
Lovely matching jack to Mike's, Greg! ::tu::

Here's a shot of Mike's Empire before it took the trip out West. I was able to pick up the etch with the scanner.

Finally... I feel I have an Empire that is worthy of all the others that have been posted here...
a pretty neat pattern, too... a Wharncliffe whittler (with a coping blade as well) with green celluloid scales.

Yes sir, Ken, you really landed a good one. Such good condition.
I may have mentioned it before but that's a nice "Sweetheart" caliper too.

Geez Ken that Empire wittler has so many good things going for it. Warncliff and coping blades, stable celluloid handles and it’s an Empire. Your a lucky man. Steve B.

KAW,I believe your Empire is a later knife that Parker had made in the late 1990's,early 2000's.A closer picture would help.
