Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Great looking knives!
I'll have to look in Sellens' book when I get back to Alexandria to see if I can find anything your knife, miketx.
Cool Tickler etch, so they put that etch on Coke Bottle hunters and large Toothpicks?

Thanks 1967redrider.....anything info would be great!
Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
I have never seen a TICKLER etch on a Keen Kutter toothpick, just on the hunters.1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 12:32 pm Cool Tickler etch, so they put that etch on Coke Bottle hunters and large Toothpicks?
miketx, Sellens says that pattern is a K2909 and was in the Simmons catalogs from 1905 through to 1929.

That's a very good looking KK Dan, I can definitely see why you are very happy .
What's the pattern called again, it's slipped my mind at this moment (fibro fog for ya ).

Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Thank you, danno50, and you're right about a "Tickler" etch on a large toothpick. I was confusing it with the pattern.danno50 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:39 pmI have never seen a TICKLER etch on a Keen Kutter toothpick, just on the hunters.1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 12:32 pm Cool Tickler etch, so they put that etch on Coke Bottle hunters and large Toothpicks?

Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Thanks Willy, it is a cotton sampler.
Yep, redrider, I was pretty sure that was the case. Does seem strange though, that they would put the TICKLER etch on a hunter and not a tickler pattern (AKA toothpick).

Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Just got this one. A 0154, 3" closed, has the Made in USA stamp, as opposed to the St Louis MO, and has seen very little, if any, use. Sellens says this model, with the pearl handles, was in the Simmons catalogs between 1927 to 1929.
