Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks guys. I've liked the pattern for a while so it's nice to finally get one.

John, I thought I had commented on your finalization to the Queen farmers jacks. I know I wrote it up, but apparently didn’t finish or submit. Kudos to your persistence. Those are beautiful knives.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks Dan and Lyle. Lyle, I bought it from a guy who got it from Art. I know you have some nice ones from the same collection.

I’ve bought several from Art. That’s why my collection is so valuable.
I saw that one at the Blade Show, when Art had it.

... Art is well-known but he does have some knives you may never see again ... he did help me out with a few “items“ for the Billings & Spencer article ...

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks. I have bought a few (expensive!) knives from Art as well, and they are among the best that I own. He was also nice enough to send me pictures of some of his knives to include in my book a while back. And he is a great resource when I have questions on old knives.

I agree Mike - Art is a great resource and has a very extensive display at every NCCA show (which I think a bunch of us miss for sure).. Anyway hard to show Art a knife he hasn’t seen and if you ask him about a specific knife you’ve never seen - well he probably has one or more ....

Re: Farmer's Jacks
I think "SLECTRIC," another cool one, buddy! Hope things are going well. I like those iron bolsters and that serpentine handle, curvy like a dogleg.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Hey everyone, I'm a huge fan of farmer's jacks too. Really appreciate all of the knowledge and pictures shared here. This is my happy place, haha. I have an old utica, a 38 beavertail, cranberry orchard gem, green linen 38, and, queen tcc burnt stag farmers jacks. I'd really like to add some more if anyone has one they wouldn't mind parting with. Thanks again for what you all do for this community.

Not sure Roger, probably is ELECTRIC. I can't find any magnification after I got it, other than after I scanned it.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Another Michell’s Seeds Philadelphia Pa knife. German made and none of my German farmers jacks remotely resemble this frame and bolsters.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Another gorgeous gem, Lyle.
How old do you think this one is? Kind of resembles the Case Mini-Copperhead frame, wish they would make a larger version of it. Thanks for posting.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
I've posted this one before with an ebony group but I'd like to add it here. Absolutely one of my favorites in style and in my collection.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Congratulations Lyle! I saw that one and had it on my watch list, but got distracted and didn’t bid. I’m glad to see you won it. It fits your collecting passion. I’m going to add a farmer’s jack to my pile some day though!
