Thanks Barry and Lee. The wife has a new camera so hopefully I can take better pics at some point instead of using my phone.

Really nice Hibbard P.D.It`s amazing how many little knives like that show up in unused condition.

Re: Vintage Acid Etched & Stamped Blades
I collect and also buy and sell knives.I have had many unused small pearl knives of different brands and patterns.Dad or grandpa got a knife for birthday or Christmas and put it in his sock draw and never use it.It was too pretty or too small.

Re: Vintage Acid Etched & Stamped Blades
Almost all these pearl Robesons are unused.
Bruce Volyles once opined that these type knives were marketed in gentlemen's clothing store and not so much in hardware or sporting goods stores and that many were discovered still in inventory when vintage knife collecting took off in the 60's and 70's and were snapped up ny the early entrepreneurs.

I posted these knives in the "A Challenge for You" and Homage to "Traditional Pen Knife" threads in Knife lore (look there for more detailed pics if interested) but these etches belong in this thread as well ...

Interesting etch on an older Kutmaster stockman. The knife does not appear to have flaws, but I may be overlooking the obvious.

Re: Vintage Acid Etched & Stamped Blades
Dimitri,
All three blades snap well and have no side to side play when open, but as I was checking the knife to make sure my memory wasn't messing with me, I discovered the problem. The spey and sheepfoot blades ride on the same backspring and when you open the spey blade the backspring drops slightly below flush.

That’s a great knife Lee.
I’d say that etched 2nd is number one Jim.

Dimitri and Lyle,
I appreciate the comments and I meant to include these photos of the "2nd" knife earlier, but I got caught up in some other issues. Here is a photo of the entire knife and a specific photo of the flaw I mentioned before.

Here is a slightly different (Gothic font?) Keen Kutter etch on a 2 3/4" pearl knife with a EC SIMMONS ST> LOUIS tang stamp.

Here is the first Kingston with an etch I have ever seen (actually it may be the first mint Kingston I have ever seen). Not a high dollar knife, but unique.

Here is another Kingston with an etch. And an etched knife my brother-in-law brought me back from Germany.

Nice knives, Dan.
Just wondering, who made the knife from Germany and how long is it?
Thanks.

Thanks Joe. The German knife was made by Friedrich Hartkopf and it is 4" in length.
