TJ: Thanks, I appreciate it. Glad you liked it.

WB: Thanks. As for your good question, I don't know if it was or not.
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Nice knife Roger,as usual. I don't remember seeing a master as such.

He has the kind of knives they write about in "Knife World".

I have several Robeson four blade knives that have the nail nick on the back side of the master.

I don't think it has anything to do with left handedness. I think it's just not putting both nail nicks on the same side. The secondary blades are done the same.

32203 and 32183 Cattaraugus. Not too many pearl cattle knives. The 32183 even has FOR CUTTING FLESH ONLY on the spey blade.

Heres an old Humason & Beckley 1853-1916 with cattle horn scales. It seems that H&B frequently used the bomb shield and to good effect I might add.

Found this older H. Boker & Co's 3 blade Cattle Knife at a gun show in Oregon. 3 5/8" Closed, tight and snappy.....the quality on this one is quite impressive. The price was very low and it is probably the nicest vintage knife I looked at on my trip. Saw quite a few knives, mostly junk and worn out or way overpriced......but had a good time looking.

Speaking about ebony, this one has it all. Ebony handles with a round shield that Cattaraugus used to designate that the knife had a punch blade. Then the spey blade is stamped FOR CUTTING FLESH ONLY. Then the 32206G tang stamp on the back of the spear blade. Not real pretty but still one of my favorites.
