Next is one you don't see a lot of, Buffalo Cut.Co.Pattern# DE 1930.Looks like a Diamond Edge made by Schrade. All the Buffalo Cuts I have seen appear to have been made by Schrade.

Catching up on my forum reading and what a way to start! A real beauty in my book. What is the significance of the blade etch? I get confused when I try to remember what company did what and who was bought and sold, contract knives, etc.

Thanks everybody for the comments. Nice to see you here Duncan.

Treefarmer the etch was for maher & grosh, I assume so they could market the knife under their line. I believe maher & grosh were always contract made knives but I could be wrong. Either way schrade made some knives for them, either etched, stamped or both. I know very little about maher & grosh so that's about all I can tell you, I bought the knife because I like old bone schrades and cattle knives. :D

Thanks Paul ::tu::

I am sure anyone would have bought that knife immediately- it’s a hang of a nice one, I think you are correct - M & G had their knives made for them.
I am not home right now but if you wanted to confirm either Goins or Levine 4 will list them as either wholesaler or manufactures.
