Old South Knife Ad

Post by smiling-knife »

Hi everyone. I also collect old wine/champagne advertising and once in awhile come across a knife related ad. This is an interesting ad from the 1890s. One of the knives in the ad is for a 'Old South Knife' In this case, the name refers to the Old South Church in Boston. It mentions an expert cutler by the name of Mr E. Lockwood. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this knife, maker, or even better, if you have one to show.

By the way, for the drinkers out there, look what $15.00 would buy you 110 years ago includes delivery to the nearest train station.

You have to click on the photo and expand to full page to see the details.
