Wow that was an interesting read I must say. Thanks for the link, that's a cool piece and since I bought one and knew nothing about the well other than it was for oil, it was fun to read up. Also of interest to me was that bit about the SFO and the original number of units and retail price. Cool. Mine sold at open auction for almost exactly four times that much. Appreciating in value. Hope that trend keeps up
and I'm not surprised because this is a well made knife, much different than the last few Queens I bought from the last ten years. I just cannot say enough again about Queens regular quality and finishing compared to that stuff I've bought from them this century. Blows my mind how Case, Queen, Schrade, etc. made such goodies just a few decades ago and then stopped to re-tool and manufacture knives that were cheaper and lower quality, worse and worse. Love these old knives and they are such a treat to get for reasonable dough and get to feel and experience how manufacturing was 50+ years ago. All my favorite knives (except GEC knives), cars, motorcycles, guitars, trucks, tools, boots, music, were from last century, before the 1980s more specifically. Just love the way they were built and last. They stand the test of time.
