Thanks gentlemen. I think the spacer would have strengthened the snap. It's good but there are stronger ones.

As of this morning, this is now my most recent addition to my wire handle/frame, pocket knife collection. It's a GEO. SCHRADE, single blade, wire handle/frame, hawkbill pruner. It needed a bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This afternoon I'm adding this "FRANKENKNIFE" to my wire-jack collection. I was wondering how long it would take for one of these to emerge. It's only three pieces, the handle, the blade and a pin. Or, in this case, a nail. When I saw it, I knew that I had to have it. It has the normal wire handle/frame. The blade however, is a L F & C (Landers Frary & Clark) USA blade. I don't believe that this was an attempt by the seller to deceive potential buyers. I think that somewhere in the history of this pocket knife, a previous owner broke two different pocket knives and rather than buy a new one or new ones, he put the surviving parts together and made this one. But.......who knows for sure. Anyway, I cleaned it up a bit, took some pictures and here it is.

That is an interesting addition to your collection Skip. I'm guessing that the wire jack frame was used in that way many times due to its easy access.
