Here is the Geo Schrade wire handle Hawkbill Pruner "cleaned" up a bit. :D

Here's my one and only wirejack. I got it in a lot of 5 knives off EBay. Only paid $25 for the 5 and one was a Buck that's at the factory now for a spa treatment.

I've cleaned this up a bit but my question is how far should I go? I got the active rust off it and stopped. Also do you think this was part of a Scout mess kit? Cool knives!

I don't go too crazy cleaning mine. Just enough to make them look presentable. I'd leave yours where it is. Yes, I do believe that your knife was part of a Boy Scout Utensil Kit. They are cool little knives. ::tu::

This seller wants $75 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/old-antique-vi ... SwMURarkiI

This seller wants $40 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Geo-Sc ... OSwLh5dFr7~

This seller wants $33 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-GEO-SCHRAD ... SwFTVdBqV2

It depends how badly you want something. $75 for a scout mess kit utensil? I wouldn't pay that much unless it is the last one in existence. It isn't.

Agree! I didn't see the other two, just the $75 one. I think the $33 is probably more in line with what these are worth. It's kind of jacked up though. Missing the internal guard and the frame looks sprung. Then again I'd never seen one until I got the one I have.

Sometimes you can get the whole scout utensil kit, knife, fork & spoon, plus the leather or vinyl carrying pouch, for less than what some sellers want for just the knife. There are some on eBay right now.

These are what I have, so far. I'm pretty sure I didn't pay over $30 for any of them.

Very nice collection! They all appear to be in very good condition. I'd be curious to know if this type of knife was common/popular. They're not something you run across very often. At least not me.

This one is in the mail and I "should" be getting it soon.
The pictures are the seller's. I'll post mine after I give it a minor cleaning.

Very C@@L BFORSE. You are now heading down a long, slippery slope. These little knives are VERY
addictive. Like I said earlier, check eBay for Boy/Girl Scout mess kit utensil sets. You can sometimes
get the knife, fork, spoon and the carrying pouch/case for less than a knife by itself. I've got links to
three wire jacks for sale on eBay (not being sold by me) a few posts above. They are still for sale.
Prices are high. As you start amassing your wire jacks, post them here so we can check them out.

If they were easy to find, it wouldn't be any fun. :D
Also, you could collect these by tang stamp variations. ::dang::

I'm trying. Oh, I literally just bought this one seconds ago.
The rust should come off fairly easily.

New Windsor! You must have just about every variation!
Do you already have a display for all those wirejacks? :D

Every variation?!?! NOT EVEN CLOSE! Have you looked at the previous posts?
Start on page 1 and read the posts and l@@k at ALL the pictures. I'm nowhere
near having every variation, pattern or tang stamps.
No, I don't have a display for them. I keep them in a case. I can easily take them out,
"play" with them and return them to the case. Seeeeeee, isn't this FUN! :D ::tu::

I’d really like to get another spear point without the cap lifter; sort of a throw down that I could use in my EDC rotation.

I understand. I want the same style also. That's why I search the internet
almost all day and almost every day. You have to be fast or someone else will get it.
You also have to know that some of these seller's (on eBay & other sites),
don't know what wire jacks are. They list them as just "pocket knife" or
as something else equally vague. You have to look at ALL the knives.
I don't know where you live, but check the thrift shops, pawn shops, flea
markets, garage sales, etc., etc. Put a want ad on this site. You never know.
Keep hunting and eventually you'll find it. ::tu::

Yep. When I have time to kill I search for knife. Ending soonest. Then start scanning the adds as fast as possible. Just getting through an hours worth is a challenge.

I think eBay is on to me though. Now they mix in results that end in a few days. These are sponsored adds. People pay to show up no matter how you filter the results.

I used to get good deals a lot. Not many lately.

I look at ending soonest first, then newly listed and then the rest.
I get mixed results. Bottom line, if I want it and my wallet agrees,
I get it or at least try to get it.
