Today I add another Geo. Schrade, single blade, wire jack, hawkbill pruner to the collection. No blade etch, no unfamiliar tang stamp. I gave it a mild cleaning, took some pictures and here it is.

FINALLY!!! I acquired, what seems like it took forever, a very ELUSIVE (to me), Geo Schrade, single blade, wire jack, hawkbill pruner. Past opportunities to obtain this particular pattern of knife have always ended up negatively. Not this time! It came, I saw, I made an offer the seller couldn't refuse. It's now mine. When it arrives, it'll get a checkup. Pictures shall be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

By chance, do you mean this one (on AAPK) for $235.00?
The answer is YES to a Case wire jack, but not this one.

If anyone is interested in the aforementioned knife, here is the link.

Today, this Geo. Schrade, single blade, wire jack, hawkbill pruner pocket knife, joins the collection. My first "large" one of these with this particular type of handle. It needed a little cleaning and it received a little cleaning. I took some pictures, here it is.

Hey Skip we've got to stop bidding against each other. The hawkbill has the nice early tang stamp. The clip looked to be sharpened down but otherwise in good shape. Good ones.

Hi Skip. What do you do/use to clean them up? This one would be like new without the stains. I won't clean this one because to my mind that would take away its "history" but sometimes they do need a little loving care.

I just "clean" the rust with graphite and leave the "stains." That's a fine looking knife. ::tu::

Thank you. I agree about leaving the stains. No sense in making an old man (me) trying to look like a 20 year old version of myself.

My latest acquisition, this Geo. Schrade, single blade, wire jack pocket knife. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over. It doesn't look like it needs much, if any, cleaning. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).
