Maybe we are thinking Schrade because of the schrade prizes. Is it John Cushner converted barn that he made Napanock knives in until his death.

No Bill Press button was part of Walden knife so it was in there factory . However it did start in Brooklyn when G Schrade converted his patent prototype business to Press Button production however that is not the answer. Randy sorry even though you me and the Duke will not be wronged in this case you are wronged or I guess just wrong is more appriopriate. Sorry guys you are all going to kick yourselves in fact several points have been made which should give the direction but they were incorrectly used. In any event do not give up you are all close. In the mean time this is the worst damn storm in several years. It was 70 degrees the last couple of days ( grass on the lawn ice all gone). Literaly since it started snowing this afternoon there is at least 15 to 20 inchs on the ground. It is still storming. If I do not make it the hats are downstairs in the left cuboard in the display with all the printing stamps. ( so that the winner gets his prize ) Whiskey is dangerously low ( now in gallons instead of kegs ). Will try to hold on as long as possible. Beer supply is ok for a day or two luckily I just bought 5 thirty packs. Lots of steak and bambi bratwurst also shrimp and lobster tails. Just about out of potatoes must eat lobster instead. Wish me luck I may have to hook the two cats to a sled if I cannot dig out . LT

Please be assured that this is the original building from which a very well known eastern knife company first used as there original manufacturing plant. This is not a trick nor is there any deception in the question. I would not do that it is a straight forward honest question . LT PS still no winners.

Jonnny Rotten is a Winner. I will post the entire story and more pics tomorrow ( since I have to scan it. ) Please send your address and i will send you your hat ( when I dig out. ) OK first of all someone mentioned that perhapes the Schrade items were throwing people off, well the entire name of Schrade at the end was Imperial Schrade ( this is what I meant by misinterpreting some clues). Also the pic is from 1916 which is why the Napanoch guess was a good one since it would have basicly been a similar structure with similar photography, Granted It was a rare pic and a tough question also when I did the Camillus story on the Camillus thread I mentioned the Levine book it came from. this story is also in this book. In any event we have a winner. Thankyou to all and tomorrow I hope you enjoy the entire story. I do not know if any of you remember that I have the original grinding wheel that Felix Miranda used during this period. so the chances are it was in this building when this pic was taken. I will get more into it tomorrow . If I make it digging out. Once again Congrats and thankyou all I enjoyed seeing the participation. There aint many of us but damn we are good. LT

That was a great contest! ::tu::
Please post pics of Felix's original grinding wheel. That is a great story that some here probably have not heard.

Thanks,
