Charlie the mark on the blade is .35 written in ink. I assume that's the original price of the knife. If you were to look at the picture sideways with the edge of the blade facing upwards you can see the mark a little more easily.

Don't know who made it for them, year was 1945 according to the encyclopedia. Thanks, solid old knife.

Amen djknife, you nailed it. Still tight and solid. Not to crow either, but if you're interested, the other side of the story was it was among hundreds of knives on a couple of large tables a seller had at the April OKCA show Eugene, OR. He didn't know anything about it, neither did his buddies or anyone we asked. The stamp is in Goins' encyclopedia sort of. The one they have says "DEPEND ON - ME TOO CO. Mine clearly says MET CUT CO. Never seen one like it and the stamp was off from Goins' so for sure I was interested. Not to mention flawless chip and crack free Rogers bone, so I low balled him down to thirty smackers and feel like I stole it. True story. Probably the best knife I have for thirty clams anyway, not to mention it's solid, old, and I think rare. Thanks for comments all. Glad you like. Money daaaaaaaaaaarn well spent.

Today I received this nice ulster dwight divine & sons ebony jack. About 3 3/8" closed. Unused and uncleaned with factory edges. Very nicely preserved piece.

Now if I could only just trade it for an equivalent schrade cut...

Fabulous Devine and Sons, at a glance it looked like a new 15 Boys knife. Can't get over how crisp and sweet that one is, the stamp and blades are incredible. Scales look flawless too. Wow is all that comes to mind.

John, referring to that one as "decent" is a considerable understatement! IMHO, Remington bone is some of the best.
