Goins has them as making knives from 1909-1916. I'm not a fan of Winterbottom bone but those are great

What an amazing Tidioute jack, not only for it's excellent condition but for the very stout saber ground master blade. What a powerful knife ! Mark you have shown us a lot of great old knives but this one tops them all. I don't recall ever seeing a vintage jack like this one.

Nice knives BWT, That Turner knife is from Sheffield, found it in my Tweedales book for you.
I have seen the South Hampton stamping before but cant recall on what, probably a hawkbill & most likely a Sheffield Cutlery manufacture also

Mark

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!

Hey Guys, I made a Gross Error in my judgement about this knife. I am still waiting to hear back from Mr. David Anthony but he reminded me that these "Handles" didn't match the "Era" of this "Stamping" which I concur.

I am MAD at myself because I could tell that this knife had been "Cleaned" in its Past & that my knife guys should have given me the RED FLAG I needed to examine the knife Further in depth before posting it. I apologize Sincerely!

I KNEW I had seen this handle material before but I couldn't quite place it like Mr. Anthony could. This handle material was on Queen City stampings, NOT this stamping((I included a couple pics to show you the resemblance))

I should have,,,,Read the knife(((specifically the Handles))),,,,and NOT the Stamping. Hahaha

I looked inside the knife & YES I do believe the Handles were replaced & then you just never know what else was done to the knife, right boys.
Another clue I missed after my deeper examination is that the Pins dont match((Brass & steel)) & finally the blades dont match their respective backsprings(width wise). I should have done A MUCH DEEPER Digging before posting this knife but I got too excited just seeing the scarce stamping.

Mr. Anthony did say something about the "Atkins period" 50-70s Era. I dont know exactly what he meant by this Yet & I am waiting on his response.
The actual blades on this knife are Legitimate Tidioute blades, but the rest of the knife is not. I wanted you guys to know this information because its important to get things RIGHT!!
Kindest Regards & Blessings
Mark

Lots of great knives posted Mark and Bill ::tu:: ::tu:: ...

Mark - You mentioned hard to find good stamps on Union Knife Naugatuck Knives - I think one is lucky just to find a Union Knife as they are not that common :D ...

I consider this knife "Old" and with both a "Rare" and "Odd" tang stamp.
The main blade tang is dual stamped. Look at it with the blade pointed up, it
says SCHRADE over WALDEN over N.Y. U.S.A. Look at it with the blade pointed
down, it says KINGSTON over U.S.A. The pattern # (stamped) is 766. ::shrug::

This is a sad end to a knife with a rare tang stamp.....LACKAWANNA. The bolsters and liners broke when I tried to open the blade, I think the company was in business from 1917 to 1921. I think this was an advertising knife for MANN Funeral Home located here in Knoxville, TN.
