Here's my only Craftsman. Sorry for the poor pics. I like the bone and it still has a readable etch. I've always wondered about the upside down shield?

That's a really nice one. If you put it in the POS Roundtable, I'll make sure you get my name.bkazz5 wrote:Here's my only Craftsman. Sorry for the poor pics. I like the bone and it still has a readable etch. I've always wondered about the upside down shield?

I've seen several of these with the "upside down" shield.
Here's mine.

Nice thread on these old Sears and Wards knives. I have one more to post it is a Sta Sharp 3 7/8" stockman
Stag. All three blades marked Sta Sharp/S.R.&Co. Blade etch Sta Sharp in fancy script. Liners are coined.
Seems to be a Premium knife. Pictures should enlarge. Pattern #7066

Re: Montgomery Wards & Sears, Roebuck & Co. Knives
I have a Ward's marked equal-end that I bought years ago for Sarah, as she collects Coca Cola stuff.
The knife has a "Coca-Cola" oval shield.
I'm afraid the knife is not genuine, so I'll refrain from posting a pic.
I bought the knife from SportKolbs (Yes, it was shown on a red background) and he must have sold about a dozen just like it after I got this one.
I even wrote to ask him exactly how many more did he have.

Here are some scans of Sarah's Ward's Coca Cola three blade cattle pattern.
Ignore the rust looking stuff on the blades, they are not rusted, but bright with all original crocus finish lustre.

Nice looking knife peanut. Wards must have made a bunch of these 4 blade stockmans. Here are mine most of which are duplicate of what has already been shown.
