Southington Cut. Co.
Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Lyle, Tom, Joe, Ike,David, Dan, thank you all, appreciated Joe, thanks for the comment on the pictures, I try, some work out better than others.
Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Go several years without being able to find a nice Southington and manage to add another nice one in a month. This one is a hefty 3 3/4" ebony dogleg.
Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Another beauty, John! I really like the ones with nice clear, not worn, tang stamps.

Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Worth the wait.
Re: Southington Cut. Co.
WOW!
John, do they get any better than that. That is just a beautiful knife.
That spring that comes around in the pen well is a real touch of class.
A great working size to boot. This one has been well saved. Thankfully!
As I stated earlier, they stopped making Southingtons in 1905.
Thank for continuing to up grade this thread with your fine knives.

Great looking blades on that one, I love those ebony doglegs.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Thank you, Dimitri.
They are in pretty good shape as most Ivory seems to be, in my experience anyway.
Something got next to that front cover but that didn't hold me back.
The lousy pictures make it look worse than it is.
Good ol' Southington knives!!!
Walks and talks like it just left the bench.

Thank you, John.
Thank you Redrider. It's nice when you find good stamps on old knives.
Doesn't always work that way.

This is an old Southington with MARY engraved on the shield. 2 3/4" closed.

That is a beautiful knife, Barry.
Thanks for posting it here.
It's remarkable how they get those blades to fit so nicely in that well.
That's one of the nicest Southington's I've seen.

Re: Southington Cut. Co.
Here's a decent one I picked up on Sunday.
Re: Southington Cut. Co.
You've got a real gem there, Glenn. Very handsome knife. It appears small as in a tuxedo.
As a reminder, Goin's encyclopedia tells us that Southington Cut. Co. was making cutlery for 38 years
from 1867 to 1905. One of my favorite stamps. Thanks for using this thread.
Nice catch Glenn.
