This is a modern custom...but I can't help it, I'm a sucker for single blade wharnies. This 3.5" (closed length) amber barbed wire bone lock back with file work was made by T bar K (Michael "Tank" Fisher). Blade is D2 steel.

Here's a couple of vintage samples I just received yesterday... both of the MoP shadow pattern variety...
11318

The Ulster at 2⅞”... has certainly seen some use...
11315 11314

... however the smaller Walden whittler at 2½”... looks like new with what I believe is the original factory edge...
11317 11316

Awesome Ken 8) ::tu:: ::tu:: ...

Here's a Miller Bros Wharncliffe posted under Miller Bros thread but belongs here - 2 & 1/8" - MOP and still snappy and tight - I think the smallest wharncliffe I own :D ... Tang stamp is the same on both blades - Miller/Bros/Meriden and not seeing CT but it is amazing to me how small that stamp is on the pen blade...

Thanks, Floyd. I also like the look and construction of this knife, not to mention my addiction to ivory. My only complaint is the size; 3 1/8" is just too small for me, especially with a narrow frame like this one has. Fortunately, I'm not planning to ever carry or use it, it's strictly a safe queen. But, as with all the knives in my collection, part of the allure for me is their potential for use should I ever so choose (form and function). As much as I like everything else about it, I'm afraid the small size of this one does detract somewhat from my attraction to it. Some lucky collector will likely get a good deal on it when I'm ready to let it go (which will probably be sooner than later).

Timing is a funny thing... a month ago I had none... and now I have three (the first two posted above)...
the third... a NYKC 2¼" fiery MoP handles with nickel silver bolsters... with my recently acquired Keen Kutter folding rule...

I stumbled on to a Rough Ryder (new spelling) with a Wharncliffe blade. I am hooked on the Wharncliffe blades so when my credit card flips over the billing cycle next week, I'm going to order one. I guess I could order it now but this will be an exercise in patience (which I sorely need).

Heard a rumor that a few of them have had quality issues which is unusual for a RR these days. At that price, I'll just take my chances.

Thinking RRs and other China made knives may be seeing a 25% price increase soon, what with the tarriffs.
