Even though the lobster is pearl, it seems kind of "Ho-Hum" when compared to bone or stag.

The pearl knife is outstanding
Here's an old box the knives originally came in.

Your very welcome Joe.
Thank you Dimitri. That box is a beauty. First and only "Henry Sears & Son" box I have ever seen. I think rare would be an understatement.

Very nice boxes guys.
Here is a box that has the name of the town "Thomaston, Conn.
It's just down the hill. I used to live there for a short while.
There were a couple of knife manufacturers there.
The box has a fabric hing.
I have never learned the connection to Henry Sears & Sons and Thomaston, Conn.
I gave the box to the Thomaston Historical Society.

Very nice knives, Olde Cutler, Joe, J1890 and Dan! As has been said, that pearl lobster is special.
Nice to see those old boxes from a relatively obscure cutlery.

Re: Henry Sears and Son 1865
Found this old knife...tang heavily worn; but, enough there to identify it as Henry Sears and Son 1865. Secondary blade was broken, main blade was proud and a piece of the pile side bone was missing...
Got it apart and removed secondary blade, to make it a single blade...unfortunately I broke a bit of bone out near the backspacing pin...
Acraglas repair looks a little better in hand...photos washed out the bone color...however, could still do better on the shade match. A little adjustment to the tang got rid of the proud blade. Someone took a belt sander to it in the past...but looks like it will be ok for EDC. Sharpened up nice, has great action, snaps and half stops. Worked great on my pork chop this morning . In to the pocket for a while.Heretical Refurb / Mods of cheap old folders, since late 2018

Good save, Doc.
Don't ya just love belt sanders?
Now you have yourself another packer by your hands. That's always a good thing.
Thanks for posting that knife here.

And the long pull and the swedge and the etch and the shield and that sweet cap.
Lets see, what else? Oh, the nice, apparently unused, pen and those Easy Opens are always handy.
I'll bet there's some walkin' and talkin' goin' on there too.
What a beauty, Ike.
Thanks for using this thread.

Re: Henry Sears and Son 1865
Hard to follow this up from ike's beautiful bone easy open...
Picked up this Henry Sears and Son 1865 recently, overall it was very clean but blades were stiff and needed oiling. Speaking of blades the previous owner liked the grinder, there is some deep scaring of the primary
Does anyone know what type of horn was used for the scales? They are light on front and reverse is a beautiful brown.
Thank you for letting me share!
