Knives & Boxes

Post by galvanic1882 »

Hey Joe and Lee here is a start to the thread. I have more but need to take pictures of them. I might have posted some of the knives before without the boxes.

Barker, Dounce and Rose, Elmira NY whittler and the box I got with it.

If anyone has knives and a box from the same company let's see them.

I'm always looking for boxes from NY companies. My wish list is below.

Thanks Mike

Binghamton Cutlery
Terrier Cutlery
Sperry and Alexander
Napanoch Knife Co
Press Button knife Co
Joseph Rodgers Cutlery

I started the thread after a few of us thought it would be good to see vintage knives with boxes from the same companies. I'll be posting more.

I have always been interested in knives but i have never had an interest in boxes. It was not until the internet came about that i learned from knife forums that many knife collectors also want the original box. It was only then that i began to keep some of the boxes. Now i have 4 garbage bags of knife boxes. It would take a lot of time to find the correct knife for each box !

Good thread, Mike. Lots of good posts. I am especially partial to the Catts in the button box. Here are three Keen Kutters and boxes.

Mike - Thanks for starting the thread and nice examples ::tu:: ... Sorry I just saw you started the thread. I just got out of a 7 day stay in a hospital emergency only a few days ago... I’m still in the midst of recovery at home for now and not comfortable BUT I promise when I’m up to it I have probably 4 others to show.. but here’s the one I had done which had us all thinking it sounds like a thread...

Scoutknives - Great example with the Challenge ::tu:: .. Not sure I ever saw a Challenge Cut box either...

KleenCut61 - That is one NICE pair from a company where the knives are tough to find - and you have a box too - Sweet ::tu::
