NICE one Jim!
Very nice skip! Another fine addition to the Zoo.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:21 pm This afternoon, this pocket knife became the latest resident at the zoo. It is the third resident received from Bulgaria. It is a "GERMANY", 1 blade, 4 tool, "Deer Head" pocket knife. It is tang stamped "GERMANY" on both sides of the main blade. It appears that it's missing the bail, that doesn't concern me. It did need some cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I think it's time you do an updated group photo of all the Germany stamped utility knives like this one.
You read my mind Smitty.

Another nice addition Skip. I notice these last two you've posted have the old school style can opener like the one you posted back in early March. A lot of the others had the newer style can opener. Interesting. Could these be older builds?New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 8:59 pm Yesterday, this pocket knife became the most recent resident in the zoo. It is the fourth resident shipped from Bulgaria.
Thank you Smitty.
Looking forward to it!!New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 10:55 pmThank you Smitty.
I was wondering that myself. If I were to go just by appearance, then I'd say that the old
time opener is the older pattern. I didn't get anywhere researching the patterns. If you're
wondering, I have a zoo resident waiting for me at the post office, which I'll retrieve tomorrow.
There's just one more resident on it's way from Lithuania. When it arrives, group pictures will be forthcoming.
Very nice Skip. Another fine addition to the zoo. I don't what cleaning you had to do, but the knife looks great. Also one with the tools in the handle is a great find.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:34 pm This afternoon, I welcome to the zoo, this beast. This is a DECORA - SOLINGEN, MADE IN GERMANY, D.B.G.M., fixed blade, 4 tool, "Elk(?) Head" knife. I have both Imperial & Colonial fixed blade knives with "Moose/Elk/Caribou Head" handles, but NOT with any tools. This knife has the tools on the handle. It measures 9" total length and it DOES have some weight to it. It did come with, what I believe to be, the original sheath. This is only the second example of this pattern/style of fixed blade knife that I have in my collection. The other example is on page 35. It did need some cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

*D.B.G.M stands for "Deutsches Bundes Gebrauchsmuster." This means "German Federal Registered Design" and indicates that the knife was made after 1949.* (per Worthpoint)
Thank you Smitty.
Now that's different! Nice find! Congrats Buddy!New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:34 pm This afternoon, I welcome to the zoo, this beast. Congrats Skip. Another nice addition to the Zoo of this pattern. I've been looking at all the different types of deer head designs of this particular style knife. I believe this one, which I have termed as the Small Deer head 6 point rack, is only the 4th of this particular head, you've added to the zoo. It's interesting to me of the different design heads by the different manufacturers.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:01 pm This morning, this pocket knife became the most recent resident in the zoo.
