I suppose I should be too embarassed to stick this lowly Corn Knife in amongst all this Stag, but someone has to love and preserve them, and this Jordan meets the criteria.

The "A. Jordan/Sheffield" knives are all top notch. Nothing "lowly" about your corn knife and it is in fine condition with etch clearly visible.

Very cool Ike.
Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Ike the only thing that I don’t like about your knife is it’s at your house instead of mine LOL That’s a nice knife and for me a maker that I’ve never seen in person. Thanks for sharing

Haha! Thanks, Bill. Attending shows around St Louis, I see Jordans on occasion, but this was a first for this pattern. Thanks for commenting.

W & S Horrabin 3 1/8", (1844-1867) Goins
Phoenix logo was commonly used by them, not sure about the U S. I am guessing the scales to be a type of Ironwood?

Here is another English made rope knife, blade has some bites out of it but the stag handles make up for that!

Great knife, Dimitri, the "bites" don't bother me a bit. I love old rope knives and that one is a classic!Miller Bro's wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 9:41 pm Here is another English made rope knife, blade has some bites out of it but the stag handles make up for that!

Goins has J Nowill & Sons from 1848 to present, I also read that the name was purchased for use by another maker in the 1940s, when the last of the Nowill family got out of the business. I am really not sure exactly where this knife would fall on that timeline.
