Good looking knife Jerry. I looked the 7 digit phone dialing up in relation to another knife I had found with the phonetic listings. According to what I found, In the U.S. 7 digit direct dialing started in the major cities around 1958. Then expanded through the 60's into the smaller cities.

I remember when we lived in Evansville, IN in the mid '50s one of the phone number prefix's was Harrison. HA 5-4321 would have been a representative number. If I remember correctly (and there's no guarantee on that) if you had a HArrison number and was calling a HArrison number you didn't have to dial the HA (42). The information I found before I posted earlier indicated the prefix's started in the late '40s and persisted into the '60s. In the late '60s that alpha prefix was discontinued. When I first came to Rockford in the mid '60s one of the prefixes we had was Forest which was gone by 1970. Our numbers after that were preceded by 968, 962, 877 & later on 229 and you had to dial all 7 digits.

Received this one Friday. It was a El Cheapo but seller said it had good snap and just needed some cleaning and sharpening. It is a Schrade Single Blade Florist Knife. It has the SCHRADE CUT. CO., WALDEN N.Y. Tang Stamp. On the pile side handle it has the "Say It With FLowers" etch, and front side is etched with the Business info. It was dirty when I received it. So gave it a warm mineral oil bath, then cleaned with warm dish washing liquid before cleaning inside the blade well, along with the blades. They did have some rust on them. The blade has great snap, and a positive half stop. I just need to resharpen the blade now, it is quite dull. Here are some photos.

Here’s a short line Camillus for the thread here. This one had been my EDC some years ago ,and it disappeared for a few years . The other day was cleaning out a corner in the shop, and it showed back up . When was using it ,it held a good edge, it’s got some blade loss , but still a good solid piece .

Another addition for my Steelies, "Say It With Flowers" and G.Schrade family, A Stainless Steel hawk bill pruning knife. It is 3-1/8" closed not including the eyelet. The tang stamp is G.SCHRADE KNIFE CO. INC over B'PORT.CT.USA over STAINLESS. The blade has an etch with SUPERTEX RIBBON CO. over DON O'CONNEL. The body of the frame is stamped in script with "Say It With Flowers"underlined over STAINLESS STEEL. I'm figuring it was a promotional give-a-way knife. The knife is like new, great snap, doesn't appear to have been re-sharpend, and just has a few spots on the blade. The blade is high polished and the body is a brushed finish. Not sure of the age of this one. The only thing I could find on Supertex Ribbon Co. was in New York City & was established in 1955, then around 1971 was re-established as SuperTex Textiles Inc. which was dissolved in 1993. Here are some pictures, all this knife needed was to oil the joints.

Thank you skip. This is the first Stainless Handle of this design I have purchased. I had seen your original post with the Sheep Foot blade. This was the first I had seen with the hawk bill blade.

Yesterday afternoon, I relieved the post office of this pocket knife. It is a CAMILLUS 100, one blade, two tang stamps, 3 7/8" closed (not including the bail), "Say it with Flowers", pocket knife. It only says "Say it with Flowers" on the main handle side. The other handle side is blank. The blade front tang stamp says "CAMILLUS (long line) - NEW YORK - USA" and the blade back tang stamp says "100" This is only my second "Say It With Flowers" pocket knife. But, this is my first CAMILLUS "Say It With Flowers", pocket knife. Overall, it is in EXCELLENT condition. Not bad for $9.99, NOT including the working man's punishment fee and shipping. I gave the blade a minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Based on what I see here and what I’ve seen over the years, one could put together a rather impressive display of such knives, if the so desired.

This morning, I relieved the post office of this pocket knife. It's a SCHRADE, one blade, one tang stamp, 3 5/16" closed (not including the bail), "Say it with Flowers" pocket knife. It only says "Say it with Flowers" on the main handle side. The other handle side is blank. The blade front tang stamp says "SCHRADE (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN, N.Y." If it also says "USA", it is hidden and I can't see it. This is only my third "Say it with Flowers" pocket knife. But, this is my second SCHRADE, "Say it with Flowers" pocket knife. It has a GREAT half stop and a NASTY opening and closing snap. It is in EXCELLENT condition. It needed no cleaning, I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
