Picked up another nice Utica. Pretty neat alligator on the front handle. Of course I love the etch and has salesman's number scratched on the back of the main blade.

Mike, how old is this one ? 1950's ?
Were there other animals on the handles of this pattern ?
Wonder if these were sold in gift shop of a Florida golf course ?
I like pen knives of any pattern but most get little collector interest.

Nice handles on that knife, not Utica Cutlery though. It’s Utica Knife and Razor. Made in Europe

Found this really cool picture of the Utica Cutlery softball team!! I know a few cutlery companies had teams.

I play alot of Senior softball in AZ, Utah, NM and Nevada so this is a cool one for me.

That's a great picture, Mike.
Nothing half way about that team. Nice looking uniforms and all.
Neat looking gloves those two guys are holding. ::nod:: ::tu::

Not all UK&R knives were made in Europe. If it is not marked with a European country of origin it is American made. UK&R contracted with Union Cut Co for hunting knives, I don't know who made American pocket knives for them. Most UK&R fixed blades I have or have seen were made in either Germany or Czechoslovakia other than the ones made by Union Cut Co.

Nice one Joe, I have that one too, and several others. Here is one made by Union Cut/KA-BAR that is etched with the UK&R "Hunter's Pal" and matching Hunter's Pal sheath. A lot of the foreign made hunting knives also had the Hunter's Pal sheaths and some had the blade etch. Sure is hard to beat that Union Cut/KA-BAR stag!!

Agreed: I have a 4.25 inch toothpick/tickler made by Utica for UK&R and a 5 inch toothpick/tickler made by Imperial for UK&R. Not sure if pictures would be appropriate here at the Ulster ranch; But I'd be happy to post them elsewhere if anyone is interested. Thanks to all who posted here--great thread!

What can you tell me about this knife? Handle material? Age? It has the curved tang stamp if that helps. It belonged to my Grandpa and he passed in 1968 so I know it's at least that old. Appreciate the help.

Been a lot of years since I posted this one. Three back springs, pinched slanted bolsters, picked bone? , and a beautiful etch.

Mike, I wonder how many of those softball players lived through the war?

Nice one D. Didn’t some research say that etch is a hardware store?

Say Roger you have some very nice knives posted in this thread and the Shapleigh and ValleyForge threads. And several nice knives in the Schrade thread.

Thanks for sharing your pics.
