Re: Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co
I’ll keep my eyes out Lyle but have seen only a couple in a few years - BTW - you said top left - top left knife is a Moose pattern - top right pattern a nice FJ - unless the photo flipped - nonetheless I personally would jump on either one
As I said nice knife Ray !! Based on background measurements is that 3 1/2 “ closed???

Re: Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co
Great pattern, great maker. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a H&B in the flesh.

Just thought I would join in with the little H & B that I got in today.
Re: Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co
Nice H&B quill gypsumele ...
H&B Crown Whittler (2 ½” closed length)…. No doubt a small whittler but very well made... Overall in great shape with inside still retaining original finish – MOP; hard snapping blades all the way around with wedged back springs… lightly used.. interesting as there is not a deep stamp H&B on master but given the relative small size of blade it would have had to been a very small die to work…

You like those close to home.
Great shape. I don’t remember seeing an H&B in person.

Thought it time to bring this thread out of hibernation. Just finished going back and reviewing this thread from page 1. There are some just outstanding examples posted and worth seeing again for sure
Here is a recently acquired H & B (New Britain CT 1852-1916) slight swell center ballon pattern Whittler. It is 3 & 3/4 inches closed with stag handles. Has a saber ground clip primary blade. Very stout clip blade 3/16 inches at tang. Extremely well made with great fit and function.

Re: Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co
That's a sweet knife!
Re: Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co
I've already bragged on this knife once but it deserves a 2nd WOW. An awesome swell center. And oh those beautiful handles!!!. To me, that would be the center piece of a collection. Absolutely amazing knife.
