One for my Marine friends...

Post by Doc B »

This one is for my AAPK family Marine friends and literally, for my Marine family (nephew). I just got back, from DFW, this weekend. My nephew, in the Marines, just returned from a 9 month deployment. For the deployment, he was placed in a MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) and assigned on the USS Essex. He is stationed out of Miramar, California.
For spring-break, he, his wife and 3 daughters were back to visit Mom (my sister) and family. He is the crew chief on the CH-53 helicopter. He's the one on the far left of the picture, below.

I gave him this Camco camp knife, rehandled in OD green micarta. The shield is out of sterling silver and on the reverse I inset a Marine logo. He was very appreciative. I'm very appreciative to the current generation, taking the reigns and making the sacrifices for us.

What a fantastic mod! And a great gift for a fine American!

That's a big bird he's flying around in. Didn't realize those choppers were that big and I thank them all for their service to our country!

That turned out nicely! I like how you removed the tongs and replaced them with pins. Great work and wonderful tribute.

Thank You, Gentlemen. Nick's got 16 years in the Marines and grown to be a great leader in his family and the Marine Corps.
