just bob,
The knives arrived today and I'm very grateful for your generosity! The scouts will enjoy learning with them. They will get some practice on a camping trip coming up.

Thanks,
Mike

UPDATE:
My scouts got a chance to use the knives at the weekly meeting with the anticipated camping trip a few days later. The scouting gods were not shining on my pack this weekend.

Several of my scouts could go due to sickness and several left during the weekend for the same reason.

My son had to stay home with my wife to help with our cat recovering from surgery.

I ended up being the chief cook and bottle washer all weekend. The knives never saw the light of day.

I get hand surgery tomorrow but my scouts are continuing their requirement this week.

The shining light of the weekend was that several scouts participated in a flag retirement ceremony.

I seriously can't make this stuff up.
