A little Ulster Rehab
A little Ulster Rehab
I don't know when I got this little knife, but it has been sitting in a drawer for ages with no handles on it. All I had It had was two liners, two blades and a springs. I don't know what sort of handle material is on it originally but I decided I would put stag on it.
These are going before pictures but they are during the rehab: This is how it looks now when I finished:
If you like stag hopefully this scratches an inch.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
As I get ready for the OKCA show next month I will post more rehabbed and customize knives.

Awesome work Dale! It reminds me of the Sheffield style builds.

Looks classic Dale. Needs a little pocket wear. Enjoy your show.
Re: A little Ulster Rehab
great looking knife. I think Stag may be in a future rehab. Need to start searching out a candidate.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input, and I'm glad you like the little Ulster.
I am not overly fond of the design, I really miss bolsters. However, in this particular instance I think the stag makes up for the lack of bolsters!
The stag on this Ulster is from the Henckels factory. I got some of the old Henckels stag several years ago in a trade. I don't have much of it left, but every now and then I find the right knife for some of the remaining Henckels stag. There's just something about the old stag from Henckels that is "different" and better than anything on the market today.
For those of you are not familiar with Henckels, Henckels stopped making pocketknives in 1960. I think all of their pocketknives now are made by Boker. Boker makes nice knives, but the old Henckels knives were kind of in a league of their own! Incredible stag like this is just one of the characteristics that set Henckels apart.

Thank you Eric! I really appreciate your feedback!
At one point in the process I wished you were here so I can ask you a question. The blades did not want to fit without rubbing. However, once I got the pins spun down and tightened it up it was great, no rub it all!
