Camillus Barlow 51

Post by Jeffinn »

I had purchased some small bone slabs that were a bit on the thin side but I figured I'd find a use for them and they were definitely priced right:

Then I found this old Camillus Barlow 51 in my project box that seemed to be about the right size:

The usual disassembly and preliminary cleanup:

And re-assembled and cleaned up:

(I just noticed a little bit of glue still on the one scale at the bolster LOL, the pictures don't lie!)
The color was much nicer than I imagined considering what the slabs looked like. And the thickness, though a bit on the thin side seemed to work okay for this style of knife.

You are truly an artist. I can't even draw a stick figure. Very nice. ::tu::

Nicely done indeed! I was surprised to see the final color. I thought you posted the wrong picture or something.
