My resto job on this 125 OT for my collection

Post by Meridian_Mike »

I got this Schrade-Walden 125 OT off the bay for my Old Timer collection.
It was pretty rough but dog gone it, it was a Schrade-Walden so I had to try.
Here is what it looked like before I got it on the bench....
.

.
The blade was tipped, the shield was gone and it had some bad blade rust.... pits weren't too deep though.
SO.... a total disassembly, a straightening of the liner lock, a good clean-up and a lot of work on the blade I came away with this for my Old Timer collection......

Thanks Jeff....
I had some good quality shop time during the holidays. This one took a little longer than the others. But I wanted it to turn out nice for my collection.

Mike, when you consistently do good it makes it hard to brag on you. Your getting experienced at this. Good job 👍

Yep, it took a while but I stayed at it until I liked the result. I learned a little more about finishing blades too.
More education under my belt!

I did spend a lot of time on the tip.... thanks for noticing!
One big lesson I learned on this knife was ..... BE patient! I get in too big of a hurry sometimes but I think I am learning to slow down and take my time.

That does sound like a good offer for not charging me to fix your knives.....LOL.

Have a prosperous year in 2020!
