Boker Tree Brand Electrician Knife #9229 - Solingen Germany

Post by Jeffinn »

I saw this color of bone previously (I believe it was one of Olde Cutler's projects but don't quote me on that). So I decided to give it a try.
Its Pacific Blue smooth bone from Culpepper. Its a different color for sure but not objectionable.
Its showing a little darker than it is (the sun wasn't cooperating today).

Very nice Jeff!
I am glad you keep using these different colors of bone. Seeing them on a nicely finished knife shows me a good example of how the color actually looks.

Great job!
Mike

I think I’ve used most of their colors once or twice (except maybe the hot pink and the violet/purple). Bone always look different once it’s shaped and polished and mounted on a knife. And the jigged bone varieties usually show their color a bit different than the smooth ones.
I have a few favorites that I like to use regularly but then I like to try one or two different colors in each order from Culpeppers.
I’m always amazed at how nice bone looks once it’s finished.

You are a busy man and an enigma as well. Here the man running the POS this year is reducing the supply by turning them into beautiful knives!!!
Another excellent job. You turn those old Fords into Lincolns. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::nod:: ::nod:: ::handshake::

I have looked at that color before Jeff and really had questions about it. Now that I see it on a knife it looks different but not objectionable as you said.
You have tried experimenting with more colored bone that I have, although I have used to Violet but not the hot pink. One of my daughter-in-law's does Susan G Komen walks for cancer, so I may end up using some of that pink bone after all.

It’s in the 20’s here.
We’re getting a little break after getting 6-7 inches of snow and then an inch or two of freezing rain. The sun is out today but it is chilly outside (and in the basement workshop as well). In a few more months it’ll start to warm up!

That hot pink would be perfect for the Susan G. Komen cancer events!

Another beauty in a very cool color Jeff (no pun intended). And, thanks for handling the POS event! ::tu:: ::tu::
